USA / FrancePlug Power Inc of Latham, New York, USA has received an order for ten 5-megawatt electrolysers from Lhyfe, a supplier of hydrogen for the transportation industry based in Nantes, France. According to Plug Power, this represents the largest such order placed by a French company.

The PEM (proton exchange membrane) electrolysers, used in the production of hydrogen from water, will be assembled in Europe. Lhyfe will take responsibility for developing and operating each site, from which it will produce hydrogen intended for use in forklift trucks and in light commercial vehicles. The electrolysers will primarily derive power from renewable sources such as wind and solar energy. Once installed, the electrolysers, with a combined power of 50 MW, will have a capacity of 20 tons of hydrogen per day, operating across multiple sites in Europe.
