BYD and Castrosua partner to build electric bus for Spanish market

Spain / Netherlands – BYD Europe BV, of Schiedam, Netherlands - the European subsidiary of Shenzhen, China-based BYD Auto Co Ltd - has signed an agreement with Carrocera Castrosua S.A. of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, to collaborate on the production of 12-metre long eBuses for the Spanish market. BYD is to supply the e-bus chassis and Castrosua the body.
The initial agreement targets the development, manufacture and sale of Class I and Class II eBuses for urban and commuter use. Produced in Spain, the BYD-Castrosua 12-metre eBuses will be built on the BYD electric chassis (built at one of two BYD plants in Europe) and will incorporate the Castrosua NELEC body.
