Iveco and Nikola launch new battery electric heavy-duty truck

The European 4x2 Artic Nikola Tre BEV

Germany / Italy / USA - Iveco SpA of Turin, Italy and its zero emission truck partner, Nikola Corporation based in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, used the 2022 IAA Transportation event in Hanover, in September to launch its new battery-electric heavy-duty tractor unit in Europe.

Already in production in the USA, the European 4x2 version of the so-called Nikola Tre battery-electric tractor is to be built by Nikola Iveco Europe GmbH, the Iveco-Nikola joint venture manufacturing plant in Ulm, Germany. This purpose-built facility came online in 2021 and features a final assembly process designed for electric vehicles.
