France / Italy – At a media day held on 5 October at its car tyre factory in Cuneo, Italy, the Michelin Group of Clermont-Ferrand, France presented two tyres – one for cars, the other for buses – made from sustainable materials, and shared its insights into changes to the global tyre market.

The bus tyre, 58% of which is made out of sustainable materials, was displayed as an illustration of Michelin’s commitment to replacing its current tyres with 100% sustainable ones by 2050. In the meantime, it has set a target for 2030, by which time the company plans to only sell tyres composed out of 40% sustainable or recycled materials.
