Denso and NTT Data to build EV battery information network

Japan - Components giant, Denso Corporation of Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, and NTT Data Corporation of Tokyo, have partnered to develop a database for EV batteries. The aim of this network is to share data regarding EV batteries in line with new European regulations (w.e.f. 2024) disclosing battery CO2 emissions and the resource recycling rate throughout battery lifecycles to comply with the necessary legislation, so that Japanese manufacturers can sell their EVs and HEVs into European markets.

Another purpose of the database is to identify different country’s regulations regarding battery product information and CO2 emissions in their manufacturing process as well as their ability to recycle the products, for transparency and ultimately easier access into the European markets by appeasing regulators.
