ROADVIEW aims to improve autonomous vehicle safety in harsh conditions such as heavy snowfall
Sweden – In September, Halmstad University in Sweden kicked off a new EU-funded project which aims to develop robust and cost-efficient autonomous driving systems which can operate safely in harsh weather conditions such as heavy snowfall.
‘ROADVIEW’ is a research project which is primarily sponsored by the European Union and is supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). ROADVIEW, which stands for ‘Robust Automated Driving in Extreme Weather’, brings together 16 partners from 7 countries, including autonomous tech firm Sensible 4, commercial vehicle manufacturer Ford Otosan, and automotive systems supplier ZF Group.
