USA – Two companies based in Palo Alto, California – BrightDrop Inc, an EV manufacturer and subsidiary of General Motors, and Nauto Inc, a tech firm – have agreed a partnership which will allow BrightDrop to offer Nauto’s AI-based advanced driver assistance systems to its customers.

Nauto is the developer of a digital platform, accessible by smartphone or tablet, which is intended to improve driver performance and reduce collisions. Nauto claims that the AI-based software has analysed data points from over one billion video miles, making it capable of accurately identifying collision risks in real time. Through sensors and alerts, the software warns the driver of potential collisions. In addition, drivers can use Nauto’s product to self-coach and improve their driving behaviour, helping them to recognise when they are drowsy or distracted. The software can also recognise distractedness or drowsiness in drivers and alert them.
