Italy / India - FPT Industrial SpA, the global powertrain brand of Iveco Group of Turin, has entered an agreement to acquire a minority stake in Blue Energy Commercial Vehicles Private Ltd (Blue Energy Motors), a zero-emission truck manufacturing company headquartered in Pune, India.

Earlier this year, on September 12, Blue Energy Motors launched its first heavy-duty liquified natural gas (LNG) truck at its recently inaugurated plant in Chakan, Pune. The agreement will see FPT Industrial supply natural gas engines to Blue Energy Motors, which plans to prioritise development of natural gas fuelled truck applications, although the collaboration also foresees the possibility of future technology deployments in the area of electrification.
