Hino executives resign over cover-up scandal

Japan - Hino Motors Ltd, headquartered in Japan’s capital city Tokyo, announced in October that four senior executives had resigned from the company over the fraudulent emission data scandal which came to light earlier this year.

An investigation carried out by a committee of independent experts found the truck-maker, controlled by Toyota Motor Corporation, had falsified emissions and fuel-efficiency tests since the early 2000s in order to obtain engine certification.
