Škoda Transportation merges bus and electric components divisions

Czech Republic – Škoda Transportation a.s., a manufacturer of buses and rolling stock based in Plzeň, Czech Republic, has announced it is consolidating its components and bus divisions under the leadership of Petr Novotný, who joins the company from Scania.
Škoda has for many years been involved in manufacturing buses and trolleybuses and in developing traction motors for multiple applications. Now the company is bringing these separate activities together, believing them to have significant and connected growth potential. The new division will expand production of electric motors for road and rail vehicles and will lead research and development in hydrogen propulsion technologies.
