Kenworth unveils next-generation long-haul T680 truck with Level 4 autonomous driving capability

USA – Truck manufacturer, Kenworth Truck Co, a Paccar Inc company, based in Kirkland, Washington, has unveiled its next-generation long-haul T680 truck, equipped with an updated driveline and with level 4 autonomous driving (using the Aurora Driver, supplied by Aurora Innovation Inc of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) at the ATA Management Conference and Exhibition in San Diego.

The vehicle is equipped with a Paccar MX-13 12.9 litre 510 hp engine, a Paccar TX-12 automated transmission, and a 21-gallon diesel tank. The Aurora Driver platform features new safety sensors (first-light lidar, imaging radar, and high-resolution cameras) and mapping software allowing for more reliable autonomous driving.
