USAVolvo Group North America Inc, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Greensboro, North Carolina, has signed a Letter of Intent agreeing to support the construction of electric vehicle charging stations at truck stops operated by Pilot Travel Centers LLC across the USA.

Pilot Travel Centers is joint owned by Pilot Company LLC, FJ Management Inc, and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. It runs over 750 service stations in 44 U.S. states and 6 Canadian provinces under the Pilot Travel Centers, Flying J Travel Plaza, and Mr Fuel brands. Volvo and Pilot plan to install high-performance charging stations at selected locations throughout the USA, which will be open to heavy-duty electric vehicles of all brands. Volvo hopes the expansion of publicly-available charging stations for trucks across the country will support the rollout of its own brand of electric trucks designed for urban and regional haulage.
