Tata Motors launches its first CNG-powered heavy-duty trucks

Tata-Signa-2818 CNG 28 ton truck

India - Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, has introduced two new truck models fitted with CNG-powered engines. These two models are the Tata-Signa-1918(CNG) offering a gross weight of 19 tons and  the Tata-Signa-2818 (CNG) a 28 ton gvw truck.

The Tata-Signa-1918 (CNG) 19t gvw truck is fitted with the Tata Motors 5.7L SGI CNG BS6, which offers a power output of 180 hp and 650 Nm at 1300-1600 rev/min of maximum torque which  is matched with G750 6 speed (6F+1R) gearbox. The chassis is fitted with axle type 7T Reverse Elliot front axle and 11.5T Banjo type single reduction rear axle.
