SwedenScania AB, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, made two announcements related to finance: it has issued a green bond worth SEK3bn to support further investments into electrification; and it has launched a venture capital fund totalling SEK2bn to support fledgling tech firms in the vehicle industry.

The green bond is the second which Scania has issued since it received approval for its green bond framework in 2020. Scania’s investment proposals are independently assessed to determine whether or not they advance a “long-term vision of a low-carbon and climate-resilient future”. Around 20 Nordic banks, insurance companies and pension fund managers were involved in the transaction totalling SEK3bn.
