India Dayco starts manufacture of viscous dampers for the world’s engine manufacturers

Dayco viscous damper

India / USA – Dayco India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Roseville, Michigan, USA-based Dayco Products LLC, a manufacturer of automotive components, has begun production of viscous dampers for heavy-duty engine manufacturers, at its facility in Manesar, Gurgaon, which was inaugurated one year ago in December 2021. The factory has an annual capacity of 500,000 units, with production capacity and product dimensions expandable and scalable depending on customers’ demands, addressing a wide range of applications worldwide.

This is the first time Dayco has produced viscous dampers in-house. The company has long produced rubber dampers and decouplers in India and now extends its product offering with viscous dampers to serve both the LCV and heavy-vehicle engine segments in India and other world markets. This new product line, the company claims, is 35% more durable than industry benchmarks. The manufacturing process entails an ultrasonic washing process that minimises pollution, premium laser welding technology for precision, industry 4.0 with 100% product traceability, leak and lock testing and silicon filling control.
