Marcopolo looks to start series production of Attivi electric city bus in 2023

Brazil - Marcopolo SA of Caxias do Sul has announced a two-pronged approach to electrification, production of a fully-built (chassis+body) electric bus called the Attivi and the production bodies for mounting on bus and coach electric chassis by other OEMs.
In response to an announcement by the city of São Paulo, which has banned the purchase of new diesel buses for city operation and instead is advocating the purchase of electric buses so that 20% of its fleet (equivalent to about 2,600 units) are electric by the end of 2024, Marcopolo is looking to go into series production of the Marcopolo Attivi in 2023.
