USA – At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, held 5-8 January, OmniVision Technologies Inc1 of Santa Clara, California launched a digital imaging product which integrates an in-cabin monitoring system for observing driver awareness developed by Seeing Machines Ltd of Canberra, Australia.

OmniVision’s ‘OAX4600’ integrated circuit is embedded with Seeing Machine’s ‘Occula’ neural processing unit – a technology designed to recognise signs of driver inattention. When paired with a camera(s) inside the vehicle, the OAX4600 will be capable of monitoring the interior of the vehicle and its occupants.
