Zvision launches 140-degree LiDAR at CES 2023

The ML-30s+ by Zvision

USA – At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada between 5-8 January, Zvision Technologies Co Ltd of Beijing, China presented a short-range LiDAR for autonomous vehicles with a larger field of view than other comparable products on the market.

The ‘ML-30s+’ is the third product to be launched by the company. It has a 140-degree field of view, providing greater peripheral vision around the sides of the vehicle than a conventional LiDAR with a field of view of 120 degrees. Zvision claims that the ML-30s+ can detect another vehicle approaching from behind much sooner than other products; it can identify the vehicle up to 1.4 metres behind the point where a conventional LiDAR would be likely to spot it. This gives the autonomous vehicle between 300 and 700 extra milliseconds to decide how it will respond.
