Howmet Fastening Systems invests in manufacturing machinery

Howmet invests in new SACMA-built 670AL cold forging machine for Huck lockbolt manufacturing

UK – Producer of industrial fasteners, Howmet Fastening Systems Ltd (HFS), based in Telford, UK, has announced it will be making its biggest machinery investment to date, with the installation of a SACMA 670AL* cold forging machine, used to produce the company’s industry renown Huck lockbolt pins and collars, a range of two-piece vibration-proof fasteners typically used in safety-critical applications.

With installation set for early 2023, this investment comes off the back of rising demand for large-diameter lockbolt technology in Europe, says the company, as it offers a cheaper alternative to welding and bolting. This new machinery will not only help increase output but also widen the range of lockbolts, opening up new market opportunities.
