Nikola truck produced in Ulm

GermanyNikola Iveco Europe GmbH, the manufacturing joint venture between Nikola and Iveco based in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, has announced its first major order for hydrogen trucks, following a Letter of Intent from renewable energy firm GP Joule GmbH of Reußenköge, Schleswig-Holstein to acquire 100 units in 2024 and 2025.

30 of the 100 6x2 ‘Tre’ fuel-cell electric trucks are slated for delivery in 2024, with the remainder to follow in 2025. These may be bought outright or leased through “GATE” (Green & Advanced Transport Ecosystem), a pay-per-use rental programme which Iveco will launch in the middle of this year. Iveco will provide all maintenance and services for the vehicles made at the joint venture facility.
