Prevost unveils next-generation intercity coach with up to 12% fuel savings

The next-generation H3-45 coach by Prevost

USA / Canada – At the UMA Motorcoach Expo held in Orlando, Florida, USA between 11-14 January, Prevost Car Inc, a subsidiary of the Volvo Bus Corporation based in Sainte-Claire, Quebec, Canada, unveiled the next-generation model in the ‘H3-45’ range of intercity coaches, boasting fuel savings up to 12% greater than previous iterations.

The reductions to fuel consumption have been largely achieved by changes to the exterior which make the coach more aerodynamic. The sleeker design also reduces wind noise in the driver area by nearly 50%, a decrease of approximately 3 decibels; and there is less soil dispersion on the windscreen and mirrors, improving driver visibility and making the coach look cleaner for longer. A front panel has been added to make it easier for the driver or technician to access the wiper and defrost systems and the driver air conditioning units.
