Scania puts first electric crane truck into operation in Denmark

Sweden / DenmarkScania AB of Södertälje, Sweden has announced that it recently put the first fully-electric crane truck into operation in Copenhagen, Denmark in waste collection operations for Urbaser SA of Madrid, Spain. 

The three-axle 6x2*4 electric truck is powered by 9 battery packs with a total capacity of 297 kWh, accommodated by a 4,750mm wheelbase. Its motor provides peak power of 295 kW and peak torque of 2,300 Nm. The truck is mounted with a ‘KG’ refuse compactor with a 18m3 from NTM of Närpes, Finland (supplied by Stiholt Hydraulic A/S of Aalborg, Denmark). The 24.5 t/m crane is a ‘F245’ model made by Fassi Gru SpA of Albino, Italy. The crane is powered by its own 86-kWh battery and an electric power take-off which was supplied by Banke ApS of Nordborg, Denmark.
