Autonomous bus goes on trial in South Korea

South Korea - The South Korean government in December 2022 said it would allow the operation of autonomous buses along a 22km bus rapid transit (BRT) route in Sejong, a city located some 120 km south of the capital city of Seoul.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport confirmed that self-driving buses would be allowed to operate in key areas between Osong Station and Sejong Express Intercity Bus Terminal in Sejong. A back-up driver is to be always onboard for safety purposes and to provide passenger assistance.
