Shyft Group to invest USD16m in expanding EV production capacity

USAThe Shyft Group, a parent of several truck and van brands based in Novi, Michigan, has announced it will invest USD16m in expanding and upgrading its manufacturing facilities located in Charlotte, Michigan to allow for the series production of Class 3-5 electric vehicles. 

At Work Truck Week in March of last year, Shyft debuted a new EV brand called ‘Blue Arc EV Solutions’, which is developing a medium-duty chassis, a Class 3 delivery van, and a portable charging station. Blue Arc products will be made at Charlotte, where Shyft currently also makes conventional delivery vans, motorhome chassis and work truck chassis. Shyft will expand existing plant and upgrading its equipment to enable to production of up to 3,000 electric vehicles per year.
