Marcopolo starts tests with Attivi electric bus in Chile

Marcopolo Attivi Electric on test in Santiago de Chile

Chile / BrazilMarcopolo SA, traditionally a bus and body builder of Caxias du Sol, Brazil, started trials of its integral 100% electric Attivi bus in Santiago de Chile in February. The company states the initiative is in line with its electromobility strategy to expand its presence in those markets where, electrification is both emerging and already more advanced, through sales of the Attivi as well as through the formation of strategic partnerships with chassis suppliers.

The Attivi model developed for Chile is 12 metres long and has a low entry chassis design equipped with a central electric motor with a maximum power output of 350 kW and torque of 3,500 Nm coupled with a ZF A132 rear drive axle. The power is from CATL batteries with a capacity of 350kWh, offering a range of between 230 and 280 kilometres, depending on the conditions of use. Other key components include ZF RL82A front axle, ZF air suspension and Knorr-Bremse brakes. It has capacity for 91 passengers (34 of which are seated in city seats with headrests).
