USAOshkosh Corporation of Oshkosh, Wisconsin has unveiled a new product which it claims is North America’s very first fully integrated electric waste collection vehicle, set for commercial launch next year.

While models such as the Mack LR Electric mount a third-party waste collection body onto an electric chassis, Oshkosh will offer a rigid truck with chassis and body designed “from the ground up”. McNeilus, an Oshkosh subsidiary, specialises in the manufacture of truck-mounted waste collection bodies. Oshkosh has not provided any specifications yet, but it has stated that the truck will be powered by an electric axle.
