USA / SpainPlug Power Inc, a producer of electrolysers and fuel cells based in Latham, New York, USA, has submitted a proposal to build a renewable hydrogen production plant near Sangüesa in Spain, representing a EUR87m investment.

The American firm put the proposal together with Acciona Energía, a renewable energy company based in Alcobendas. The ‘Valle H2V Navarra’ project would involve the construction of a 25MW electrolyser next to an existing biomass plant. The hydrogen production facility would derive its power from a photovoltaic plant (25MW) and a wind farm (24MW), both newly-built facilities which are reportedly under development.
