India: Light truck sales edge up 5% in Q3 of 2022-23

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier (truck) vehicles (gvw ≤ 7.5t) in India rose by a modest 4.8% in Q3 of FY 2022-23 to 133,340 units from 127,213 units in same period of FY 2021-23. Production of LCV goods carriers redged up 2.6%, while exports decreased by 21.9%.

The second largest segment of trucks of GVW ≤ 2t declined by 8.1% to 45,364 units in Q3 of FY2022-23 from 49,372 units in Q3 of FY2021-23. Production rose by 17.5% reflecting orders later in the quarter, while exports during the quarter declined by 44%.
