India - Sales of medium and heavy rigid trucks (7.5t gvw and above) in India improved by 19.2% in the third quarter (October to December) of FY2022-23 (Q3/22-23) to register 63,713 units, up from 53,439 units in same quarter of fiscal year 2021-22.

Production of the rigid trucks increased by 6.2% to 66,637 units in Q3 of FY 2022-23 from 62,741 units in Q3 of the previous year. Exports of rigid trucks fell by 69.9% to 2,074 units in the third quarter of FY 2022-23 from 6,898 units in the same quarter of the previous year – a reflection of large orders for Ashok Leyland and Tata Motors in that period previously.
