India: LCV truck demand boost sales 34.1% in the first nine months of 2022-23

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier (truck) vehicles (gvw ≤ 7.5t) increased by 34.1% to 412,019 units in the first three quarters (April-December) of 2022-23 from 307,142 units in same period of 2021-22. Production of LCV goods carriers increased by 30.7%to over 450,000 units, and exports edged up by by 2.7% to over 42,000.

The second largest segment, GVW ≤ 2t, saw domestic sales rise by 24.8% to 144,761 units in the first three quarters of 2022-23 from 116,028 units in same period of 2021-22. Production increased by 18.1% and export sales fell by 17.3%.
