India: Tractor market balloons 123% to exceed 35,000 units in the nine months of FY2022-23

India – The heavy haulage tractor sector saw sales more than double during April to December of 2022-23 to register 35,334 units compared with 15,794 units in the same period of the previous year (2021-22). Tractor production rose by 115.9% and export fell by 43.5%.

The light-weight tractor (26.4 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) segment sales registered growth of 112.8% to 3,960 units in the three quarters of 2022-23, up from 1,861 units in the same period of 2021. Production increased by 95%.
