Mack Trucks reveals medium-duty electric truck series with SEA Electric as powertrain partner

The MD Electric by Mack Trucks

USA – At the Work Truck Show, held between 6-9 March in Indianapolis, Indiana, Volvo subsidiary Mack Trucks Inc of Greensboro, North Carolina unveiled two medium-duty battery-electric truck models, powered by proprietary hardware supplied by Australian-American retrofit firm SEA Electric Holdings Pty Ltd of Los Angeles, California.

The ‘MD Electric’ is the zero-emission equivalent of the MD Series of Class 6 and 7 trucks which Mack Trucks launched in 2020. The Class 6 MD Electric will have a gross vehicle weight rating of 25,995lbs and the Class 7 will have a weight of 33,000lbs. Like the diesel MD Series, the MD Electric cab will measure 103 inches from bumper to back, and will feature an exterior styling reminiscent of the Mack ‘Anthem’.
