SAF-Holland announces 100% acquisition of Swedish braking and suspension specialist Haldex

Germany / SwedenSAF-Holland SE, a manufacturer of truck-trailer components based in Bessenbach, Bavaria, has announced a complete acquisition of Haldex AB, a trailer brake and suspension manufacturer based in Landskrona, Sweden.

It was announced last June that brakes specialist Knorr-Bremse had sold its 9.2% stake in Haldex to SAF-Holland. This marked the end of Knorr-Bremse’s attempts to take over the company, which date back to an ownership tussle in 2016 with ZF Group, who owned 20% of Haldex shares at the time. In 2019, ZF announced it would sell its shares in Haldex in order to acquire competitor Wabco instead.
