Scania to install digital dashboard in new trucks and buses

Sweden – Scania AB, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, has announced plans to install new trucks and buses with a digital dashboard compliant with upcoming standards for vehicle cybersecurity.

‘Smart Dash’ will replace the conventional dashboard with a modular electronic system which the driver can customise with various digital applications, such as ‘My Scania’ or the ‘Scania Driver App’. The digital dashboard will receive over-the-air updates to improve functionality – potentially over 5G, Scania stated.
