Nova Bus selected for electric bus trial by Washington Metro

USA / CanadaNova Bus Inc, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Eustache, Quebec, Canada, has announced an order for five 40-foot electric buses from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, the public transport agency which serves the District of Columbia and surrounding parts of Maryland and Virginia in the USA. 

The ‘LFSe+’ is Nova Bus’s battery-electric bus range propelled by an integrated powertrain and electronics supplied by BAE Systems. It has been selected by the Washington Metro to participate in an electric bus trial and evaluation programme. The agency plans to purchase zero-emission buses exclusively from 2030 and to transition to a 100% zero-emission fleet by 2045.
