UK – Trade association, Hydrogen UK Ltd*, has lobbied the UK government for a coordinated national hydrogen strategy to support the path to net-zero after publishing its annual Hydrogen Transport Benchmarking report which compares hydrogen policies against other international economies.

The organisation has made three recommendations to ensure the successful implementation of hydrogen into the UK transport sector, with the first being, a minimum network of 200 hydrogen refuelling stations by 2030. The association believes that hydrogen will be the dominant technology for heavy-goods vehicles in and therefore, the production of clean hydrogen needs to be scaled in order to meet demand.
