21% of ABC’s Van Hool coach sales in 2023 expected to be electric

USA – 21% of all our coach sales are electric, said Thom Peebles, vice president marketing at ABC Companies Inc of Winter Garden, Florida, at Busworld North America held in Detroit, MI, in February.
ABC, the north American importer and distributor of Belgium’s Van Hool NV coaches since 1987, sells two battery electric coach models in the USA, the Van Hool CX45E (a triaxle single deck model with Cummins (Siemens) ELFA II electric motor and 660 kWh Proterra Lithium Ion battery pack) and TDX25E double deck (a triaxle with ELFA II electric motor and Proterra 676 kWh batteries) with capacity for 69 passengers. (Diesel engine equivalent offers 88 passenger capacity). There is no 35ft CX35E model as yet but it is likely to become available sometime in the future, suggested Peebles.
