Microvast to build battery separator facility in Kentucky

USA – Microvast Holdings Inc of Stafford, Texas has announced it will build a new facility for the mass production of its proprietary battery separator material in Kentucky, with a scheduled completion date of 2025.

The 350,000-square-foot factory will be built on a 100-acre site in Commerce Park II in the city of Hopkinsville. It represents a total investment of USD504m, of which USD200m will be provided by the U.S. Department of Energy through a previously-announced grant. The new site will create up to 562 full-time jobs, according to Microvast.
