Oshkosh invests in Australian lidar startup

USA / AustraliaOshkosh Corporation, owner of several special truck brands based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, recently made an unspecified investment in Baraja Pty Ltd, a startup tech firm based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia which produces lidar products for automotive applications. 

Founded in 2015, Baraja is developing a lidar system called ‘Spectrum HD25’. It will work using ‘Spectrum-Scan 10’, a technology developed by Baraja to improve the accuracy and range of lidar-based (i.e., using laser imaging) perception. Lidar technology has applications in autonomous vehicles and in advanced driver assistance systems. Baraja is targeting the truck segment as well as passenger cars and off-road vehicles.
