Karsan appoints Damera Bus Sales as Canadian distributor for e-buses

Canada / Turkey - Announcing orders for the first Karsan e-Jest electric minibuses in Canada for the cities of Saint John’s (6), and Oakville (15), Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Tic. A.Ş. (Karsan) of Bursa has announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Canadian distributor, Damera Bus Sales Canada Corp of Mississauga, Canada. Damera, traditionally a bus and truck parts and services company has been the Canadian distributor of coaches built and supplied by fellow Turkish company, Temsa, since 2017.
With Oakville being famous for having narrow streets, the narrow-gauge e-Jest is expected to replace all the city’s diesel buses with Anita Anand, Canada’s Minister of Defence / Oakville MP, saying: “The first group of zero-emission, battery-electric, specialized buses arriving in Oakville is an exciting milestone for our community that will bring us one step closer to a net-zero emissions future by 2050.”
