Argentina – Despite high inflation*, sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (7.5 tons gvw and above) in Argentina faired surprisingly well in the first quarter of 2023, decreasing by just 3% to 3,561 units, compared with the 3,672 units sold in the same period of 2022, according to data from SIOMAA S.A. of Buenos Aires. However, despite a fall during the quarter, March sales totalled 1,061 vehicles, an increase of 5.7% on sales in the previous month of February (1,004 units), indicating a possible market recovery, the association stated.

Iveco maintained market leadership in the rankings by model and brand, confirming its absolute leadership. By model, the Iveco 170E truck closed the quarter in first place, with 439 units and 12.3% of the market, ahead of the Mercedes-Benz Accelo 815, with 207 vehicles, an advantage of 232 trucks.
