China - Sales of new commercial vehicle in China rebounded by over 29% to 324,000 units in February 2023 from 250,000 units in the same month of last year, according to wholesale data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

This follows a 35% drop in January, mainly due to this year’s early Lunar New Year holidays which resulted in fewer working days during the month compared with last year – while the reverse occurred in February. Economic activity in the country has picked up significantly since the government discontinued its Zero-Covid policy in the fourth quarter of last year, with full-year growth expected to reach 5% this year from a multi-decade low of 3% in 2022.
