Daimler Truck launches new urban electric truck brand, ‘Rizon’, in the U.S.

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA) of Portland, Oregon launched a new electric vehicle brand called ‘Rizon’ which will sell Class 4-5 trucks in the U.S. market. 

Rizon will offer three truck models with six configurations. The ‘E16M’, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 15,995 lbs, will be fitted with two LFP battery packs, offering 74-kWh of usable energy and a range of up to 110 miles. The ‘E16L’ offers lower payload but a greater range of up to 160 miles with 3 battery packs with 116-kWh capacity. Finally, the ‘E18L’, weighing 17,995 lbs, is also fitted with 3 battery packs offering a range of up to 155 miles.
