Daimler Truck NA unveils Freightliner eM2 production model at ACT Expo

The Freightliner eM2 for delivery and utility applications

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Daimler Truck North America LLC of Portland, Oregon showcased two models from its range of battery-electric medium-duty trucks marketed under the ‘Freightliner’ brand, set to enter series production this autumn.

The ‘eM2’ is based on the ‘M2 106 Plus’ chassis which DTNA began producing in 2022 – the new-generation version of a truck range first launched over twenty years ago. DTNA delivered its first eM2 truck for pilot testing with Penske Truck Leasing back in 2018; since then, the eM2 pre-production models have accumulated more than 1.5 million test miles with just under 50 fleets across North America.
