Dana unveils new electric drive system at ACT Expo

The Dana Zero-6 e-Transmissions

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Dana Incorporated of Maumee, Ohio presented a new electric drive system, with integrated motor and transmission, which will see its first application with a “global electric vehicle platform” next year.

The ‘Zero-6 e-Transmissions’ – part of Dana’s range of ‘Spicer Electrified’ drives for commercial vehicles – brings together motor, inverter, and three-speed transmissions in a single unit. The Zero-6 will accommodate a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 59,500 lbs and is suited to medium-duty applications such as walk-in vans and refuse and utility trucks. Two maximum torque ratings of 4,900 Nm and 7,900 Nm will be offered.
