USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Paccar brands Kenworth Truck Company of Kirkland, Washington and Peterbilt Motors Company of Denton, Texas announced their plans for commercial production of Class 8 fuel cell-electric trucks, with Kenworth aiming to begin customer deliveries next year.

Kenworth said that its North American dealers are now accepting deposits for the first batch of fuel cell-electric trucks it will make in 2024. These will be based on its ‘T680’ truck model. Following customer pilots, Kenworth plans to initiate serial production in 2025. Similarly, Peterbilt plans to produce a fuel cell-electric truck line, which it says will be available in 2025.
