ConMet displays new and updated range of wheel hub products at ACT Expo

nMotion TR 160-45 by ConMet

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Consolidated Metco Inc (“ConMet”), a wheel-hub specialist based in Vancouver, Washington, presented an updated range of products designed to deliver auxiliary power, such as zero-emission power to transport refrigeration units (TRUs).

Called ‘nMotion’, this line of products works either in tandem with or separately from ConMet’s ‘Preset Plus’ wheel-end hub motors. The ‘nMotion TR 160-45’ pairs with the e-hub motor to deliver power to the TRU. At its expo stand, ConMet displayed the second-generation version of the TR 160-45, which generates and stores more power than before. The system can generate up to 160 kW per axle and can store up to 45 kWh in a battery pack. ConMet claims that, while the new battery has a larger capacity, its new compact design adds no additional weight. Additionally, the TR 160-45 can be plugged into shore power, allowing the operator to recharge the battery while powering the TRU at the same time. The new-generation TR 160-45 was developed in collaboration with Carrier Transicold of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It is available for order together with Carrier’s ‘Vector eCool’ TRUs, with the first deliveries expected early next year.
