Blue Bird completes largest ever electric school bus delivery

USA – American school bus manufacturer, Blue Bird Corp, based in Macon, Georgia, has delivered 60, Vision electric school buses to the Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) district in Florida, marking the largest ever electric school bus delivery in the company’s history. These vehicles will operate throughout the Broward County district, replacing a batch of 60, diesel school buses previously in operation.
Each of these vehicles can carry 72 students travelling up to 120 miles on a single charge, taking 3-8 hours to fully recharge depending on the charging infrastructure. BCPS Superintendent Dr Earlean Smiley has said that the decision was based on Blue Birds’ good reputation in helping school districts lower their emissions from bus fleets.
