Allison partners with Foton to deliver 400 CNG buses to Mexico

Mexico / China / USA – Through its partnership with Beiqi Foton Motor Co Ltd (“Foton”) of Beijing, China, gearbox and e-Axle manufacturer, Allison Transmission Inc of Indianapolis, Indiana, has delivered propulsion systems for 400 Foton AUV compressed natural gas (CNG) buses being exported from China to Nuevo Leon in Mexico, to aid the states plan to modernise public transportation. These buses are equipped with an Allison Torqmatic fully automatic transmission and a Cummins engine aimed at improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions and lowering engine noise levels. This contributes to the significant growth in Allison’s export bus sales from China.
