Rocsys presents autonomous charger at ACT Expo

ROC-1 by Rocsys with charger mounted

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, held between 1-4 May 2023, Rocsys BV of Rijswijk, Netherlands presented an electric vehicle charger which hooks up to the vehicle on its own without any human intervention.

‘ROC-1’ is billed as a robotic charger that fully automates the docking process for an electric vehicle which has pulled up to the charging station. ROC-1 wirelessly communicates with the vehicle to insert the cable into the charging port and to remove the cable when charging is done. The integration work needed to be done on the vehicle is straightforward: Rocsys offers to install a self-opening cover for the vehicle charging port and a communication module to trigger the plug-in/plug-out process from the vehicle side.
